Business Development Manager

About the role

The Business Development Manager will drive revenue growth for Phillips Outsourcing Limited by identifying and securing new client opportunities and expanding existing accounts within the HR outsourcing and workforce solutions market in Lagos.

Key responsibilities

• Execute approved sales and business development strategies to meet revenue and profitability targets.
• Identify, qualify and develop new business opportunities across assigned markets and industries.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective, existing and key clients to drive acquisition, retention and account growth.
• Cross‑sell and upsell additional HR outsourcing and workforce solutions to existing accounts.
• Maintain an accurate sales pipeline in the company’s CRM system from prospecting through conversion.
• Gather client requirements, collaborate with internal teams to design tailored solutions, and prepare proposals, presentations and bids.
• Negotiate commercial terms, pricing and service level agreements in line with company guidelines.
• Monitor client feedback, coordinate service issue resolution and support onboarding of new clients.
• Coach, supervise and support the Business Development/Sales team to achieve KPI targets.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Social Sciences or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of business development or sales experience, preferably in outsourcing or HR services.
• Professional certifications such as IBD or NIMN are a plus.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate sales teams.
• Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CRM systems.
