Business Development Manager

About the role

We are looking for a Business Development Manager to lead revenue‑generating initiatives and expand our presence in the consulting, learning & development, and events sectors. Based in Lagos, you will be responsible for identifying new opportunities, securing sponsorships and building strategic partnerships.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute business development strategies that deliver sustainable revenue growth.
• Identify, qualify and convert new opportunities across consulting, corporate training, conferences and events.
• Source, negotiate and close sponsorships for corporate events, executive summits and learning programmes.
• Develop and maintain relationships with corporate clients, government agencies, development partners and key stakeholders.
• Prepare compelling proposals, sponsorship decks and tender responses aligned with client needs.
• Lead contract negotiations and manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to closure.
• Conduct market research to spot emerging trends, competitor activity and growth opportunities.
• Collaborate with internal teams to tailor consulting, training and event solutions.
• Represent the company at networking events, industry conferences and business forums to generate leads.
• Monitor performance against revenue targets and produce regular pipeline reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Management or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in business development, sales or partnership management, preferably within consulting.
• Proven track record of securing sponsorships and managing corporate partnerships.
• Experience in events, conferences, executive programmes or learning & development organisations.
• Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed revenue and growth targets.
• Excellent proposal writing, presentation, negotiation and stakeholder management abilities.
