Automation & Electrical Technician – Full-Time

About the role

Ultimum Limited, a fast‑growing beverage manufacturer in Nigeria, is looking for an Automation & Electrical Technician to maintain and optimise electrical and automation equipment on its bottling lines. The role focuses on ensuring high equipment reliability, product quality, and safety while meeting production targets.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical and automated machinery, including PLC‑controlled equipment.
• Maintain continuous machine uptime by responding quickly to engineering issues.
• Carry out daily, weekly and monthly condition monitoring of all equipment.
• Oversee contractor safety compliance on electrical work.
• Verify that all machine guards, safety switches, and status indicators are functional.
• Keep equipment panels clean, labelled, dry and securely closed.
• Maintain cable trays, ensure proper labeling and secure terminals.
• Check that breakers, fuses, contactors and relays are correctly rated and operating without vibration or humming.
• Ensure filters are clean and panel cooling systems work.
• Label and record all electric motors, documenting any faults and corrective actions.
• Perform routine electrical and automation maintenance and sign off all activities.

Required profile

• Technical qualification equivalent to HND/BSc in Electrical/Electronics or related field.
• Basic PLC troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of instrumentation and electro‑pneumatics.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams.
• Familiarity with SAP and Microsoft Office.
• Good command of English.
