Assistant Workshop Manager

About the role

The Assistant Workshop Manager will support the workshop manager in overseeing all auto‑electrical, diagnostic, wiring and rewiring activities for Toyota vehicles. This onsite role ensures high‑quality repairs, safety compliance, and efficient workflow within a busy automotive service environment.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee auto‑electrical, diagnostic, wiring and rewiring tasks, ensuring adherence to Toyota OEM standards.
• Supervise and guide technicians in diagnosing and resolving complex electrical faults.
• Assist in daily planning, job allocation, and workflow coordination.
• Maintain accurate job and diagnostic records and manage spare‑parts requisition.
• Enforce safety and compliance procedures, and ensure tools and equipment are calibrated.
• Provide performance reports and stand in for the workshop manager when required.

Required profile

• HND in Electrical, Electronics or Automotive Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as an auto‑electrical/rewire specialist, with strong Toyota vehicle experience.
• 2–3 years of supervisory experience.
• Toyota technical training certifications; experience with armoured vehicle systems is a plus.

Required skills

• Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostics.
• In‑depth knowledge of Toyota electrical systems (ECU, ABS, CAN‑BUS).
• Proficiency with Techstream and other diagnostic tools.
• Leadership and team‑management abilities.
