Assistant Technical Officer – Nurse/Midwife

About the role

The Assistant Technical Officer – Nurse/Midwife will deliver nursing and midwifery services to vulnerable populations in Damasak, Borno State. Working under the supervision of the Technical Officer, Health and Nutrition Services, you will ensure quality care in line with medical protocols and hygiene standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide nursing and midwifery care, including antenatal, delivery and post‑natal support.
• Administer treatments and follow‑up according to doctors’ prescriptions and established protocols.
• Conduct patient triage, first‑aid, and refer emergency cases to physicians.
• Assist patients with feeding, personal hygiene, mobility and overall comfort.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver integrated WASH, health, nutrition and protection interventions.
• Offer health education and counseling to women, families and the community.

Required profile

• Qualified nurse or midwife with at least 12 months of relevant experience.
• Willingness to work in humanitarian settings with internally displaced persons.
• Ability to follow clinical protocols and maintain high standards of hygiene.
• Good communication skills for patient interaction and team coordination.
