Assistant Store Keeper

About the role

The Assistant Store Keeper will support the storekeeping function in a manufacturing environment, ensuring that materials are received, stored, and issued efficiently. This role works closely with production, procurement, and logistics teams to maintain smooth material flow.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and record incoming materials, verifying quantity and quality.
• Store materials safely to prevent damage, deterioration, or loss.
• Issue raw materials, fittings, consumables, and tools to production based on approved requisitions.
• Maintain accurate stock records using inventory management systems and manual registers.
• Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly stock counts and support periodic inventory audits.
• Monitor stock levels and report low‑stock or overstock situations promptly.
• Label and organize inventory for easy identification and retrieval, ensuring FIFO compliance.
• Maintain housekeeping and safety standards within the store.
• Prepare inventory and stock reconciliation reports and assist during internal and external audits.
• Collaborate with Procurement, Production, and Logistics to ensure smooth material flow.

Required profile

• Minimum OND in Purchasing & Supply, Business Administration, Logistics, Accounting, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in storekeeping, inventory control, or warehouse operations within a manufacturing setting.
• Experience in furniture, wood processing, or similar manufacturing environments is highly preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
• Familiarity with inventory or ERP software such as Odoo, Sage, or SAP.
• Knowledge of FIFO, stock reconciliation, and inventory auditing procedures.
