Assistant Sales Manager

About the role

The Assistant Sales Manager will support the achievement of sales targets by driving revenue growth, market penetration, and customer acquisition across assigned territories. Reporting to senior sales leadership, the role combines strategic planning with hands‑on team coaching to ensure alignment with business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Support revenue growth and market penetration in assigned territories.
• Lead, motivate and support the sales team to meet performance expectations.
• Develop and implement sales plans, budgets, forecasts and market strategies.
• Identify new business opportunities and manage prospecting, onboarding and key account relationships.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activities and customer feedback.
• Prepare and submit accurate daily, weekly, monthly and annual sales reports.
• Maintain CRM records and coordinate with internal teams such as supply chain and operations.
• Represent the organization professionally during client meetings and negotiations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in a sales leadership or supervisory role, preferably in FMCG, retail or consumer products.
• Proven ability to consistently meet or exceed sales targets.
• Strong leadership, communication, negotiation and interpersonal abilities.
• Willingness to travel within and outside Lagos and a valid driver’s license.
