Accountant / Internal Auditor

About the role

Diamond Throne Limited is seeking a diligent Accountant/Internal Auditor to protect revenue, ensure accurate reconciliations and provide timely financial reporting for its hospitality operations in Lagos.

Key responsibilities

• Reconcile daily sales across all departments, matching POS/system sales with cashier reports, dockets and customer payments.
• Audit cash collections, bank transfers, POS settlements and investigate any shortages or unexplained differences.
• Conduct periodic and surprise checks on cashiers, storekeepers and control processes.
• Review stock reports, verify physical stock against records and investigate material variances.
• Examine major expenses, supplier invoices and payment documentation to identify revenue leakages.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, financial performance reports and review payroll calculations.
• Coordinate tax and statutory compliance and immediately report suspected fraud or material discrepancies.

Required profile

• HND in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• ICAN certification – ACA/FCA.
• Minimum 2 years of practical experience in accounting, audit, financial control or revenue assurance.
• Strong knowledge of Nigerian accounting standards and taxation.
• High integrity, confidentiality and professional independence.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify financial irregularities.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel for financial reporting and analysis.
• Experience with accounting and POS systems.
• Proficiency in financial reporting and reconciliation processes.
