Account Officer

About the role

Vale Finance Limited is looking for an Account Officer to join its finance team in Lagos. The role will support the preparation of management accounts, assist in budgeting and forecasting, and help maintain accurate financial records.

Key responsibilities

• Provide inputs for the preparation of management accounts.
• Assist in financial planning, budget preparation, and forecasts.
• Manage fixed‑asset schedules for depreciation, amortisation, additions and disposals.
• Maintain schedules for accruals, pre‑payments, premium deposits, etc.
• Raise and post recurring journals for pre‑payments and accruals.
• Perform periodic bank reconciliations and postings.
• Execute inter‑company reconciliations and settlements.
• Conduct periodic general‑ledger reviews for accuracy and corrections.
• Prepare monthly staff payroll, analyse payroll data and manage staff loans.
• Ensure timely filing of statutory payments and taxes.
• Respond to internal and statutory audit requests.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing activities.

Required profile

• B.Sc in Finance or Accounting (ACA or ACA in view).
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in Excel, QuickBooks and PowerPoint.
• Previous experience in a financial institution is an advantage.
