Workshop Manager

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Workshop Manager to lead the day‑to‑day operations of our fabrication facility in Ota, Ogun State. The role involves overseeing personnel, coordinating production activities, maintaining quality and safety standards, and ensuring projects are delivered on time.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of the workshop and fabrication facility.
• Plan, coordinate and supervise fabrication activities to meet project schedules.
• Interpret mechanical and fabrication drawings, specifications and engineering documents.
• Monitor productivity, quality, and overall workshop performance.
• Enforce safety procedures, housekeeping standards and equipment maintenance.
• Collaborate with engineering, procurement and project teams to resolve technical issues.
• Identify process improvement and cost‑reduction opportunities.
• Supervise and mentor workshop staff including welders, fitters and machinists.
• Prepare regular reports on production progress, manpower utilization and equipment status.
• Participate in recruitment, training and performance management of workshop personnel.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 7–10 years of experience in fabrication, manufacturing or heavy engineering environments.
• At least 3 years in a supervisory or management role overseeing workshop operations.
• Strong understanding of fabrication processes, welding, cutting, machining, assembly and quality control.
• Proven ability to read and interpret mechanical and fabrication drawings.
