Wintel Support Officer

About the role

The Wintel Support Officer will ensure the smooth operation of Windows‑based infrastructure across regional offices, handling installations, virtualization projects and day‑to‑day support. You will lead a team of 2nd‑level engineers, manage asset tracking and guarantee business continuity through robust disaster‑recovery processes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain procedures for tracking company assets throughout their lifecycle.
• Deliver customer installations and projects, including server and storage virtualization, system configuration, and rollout of Microsoft Server and Exchange.
• Supervise and support 2nd‑level support engineers and regional IT support personnel.
• Administer computer networks, hardware, systems software and application configurations.
• Perform routine maintenance on laptops, desktops and printers to improve performance.
• Enter and keep hardware data up‑to‑date in the CMDB.
• Provide temporary work‑arounds within 48 hours before hardware repairs.
• Manage VMware Site Recovery Manager, Dell and NetApp SnapMirror replication between production and disaster‑recovery sites.
• Ensure cost‑effective use of virtual servers and oversee Self‑Service Kiosks and QMS machines across regions.
• Resolve escalated 2nd and 3rd‑level issues on kiosks and engage vendors when required.
• Maintain and regularly update disaster‑recovery documentation.

Required profile

• BSc in Information Technology or a related field.
• 3–4 years of experience in IT support, preferably in a banking environment.
• Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and related software.
• Familiarity with banking products and systems.
