Vice Principal of Academics

About the role

We are looking for a dynamic Vice Principal of Academics to join the leadership team at St. Mary Dedication British International School in Benin City. Working closely with the Principal, you will help shape the school’s academic strategy, ensure high‑quality teaching, and foster a positive learning environment for students and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Principal in developing and implementing school policies, procedures, and curriculum.
• Supervise, evaluate, and support teaching staff, providing feedback and professional development opportunities.
• Manage student discipline and promote a positive school culture.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and community members to enhance student achievement.
• Oversee academic programs, extracurricular activities, and standardized testing.
• Participate in budget planning, resource allocation, and compliance with Nigerian educational regulations.
• Act as the Principal in their absence, making critical decisions as needed.
• Utilize educational technology to improve teaching and learning processes.

Required profile

• First degree in Education, Mathematics or English; Master’s degree preferred.
• Strong leadership and management abilities with a track record of motivating staff.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with Nigerian educational policies and school administration.

Required skills

• Computer literacy and familiarity with school administration software.
