Veterinary Doctor – Pig Management Specialist

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Veterinary Doctor specialized in pig management to join our farm in Ughelli, Delta State, Nigeria. The role focuses on maintaining the health, productivity and welfare of the swine herd while applying best‑practice veterinary and livestock management.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose, treat and prevent pig‑specific diseases.
• Oversee breeding, farrowing and weaning programmes to maximise herd productivity.
• Develop and monitor feeding programmes for optimal growth and health.
• Implement strict biosecurity protocols to prevent disease outbreaks.
• Maintain accurate medical and production records.
• Train and supervise farm staff on animal handling, welfare and health practices.
• Provide rapid emergency care during health crises.

Required profile

• Veterinary degree (DVM or equivalent).
• 4–5 years hands‑on experience in pig management and veterinary practice.
• Strong knowledge of swine diseases, treatment protocols and herd health management.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with farm staff.
