Truck Driver

About the role

Powell Homes and Shelters Limited is seeking a reliable Truck Driver to support its construction projects in Enugu and surrounding areas. You will be responsible for transporting materials, equipment and documents safely to project sites while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate company trucks to deliver construction materials, tools and documents to designated sites.
• Conduct pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections, report any mechanical issues promptly.
• Load, secure, unload and verify goods to prevent damage or loss.
• Maintain accurate trip logs, fuel usage records and mileage reports.
• Comply with road traffic laws, company policies and speed limits.
• Keep the vehicle clean, presentable and ensure all permits and documents are valid.
• Report accidents, breakdowns or emergencies immediately to the supervisor.

Required profile

• Minimum SSCE/WAEC/NECO or equivalent qualification.
• At least 4 years of proven experience driving trucks or heavy‑duty vehicles.
• Valid Class G driver’s licence.
• Demonstrated experience in construction, logistics or related transportation sectors.

Required skills

• Safe vehicle operation and defensive driving techniques.
• Ability to perform routine vehicle inspections.
• Basic record‑keeping and documentation skills.
