Travel Consultant

About the role

A full-time Travel Consultant position is advertised by Work in Nigeria Recruitment Agency, based in Lagos (Marina). The consultant handles customer enquiries, book travel and follow up on sales, meeting assigned revenue targets.

Key responsibilities

• Attend to customer enquiries, prepare quotations and offer suitable travel options within clients' needs and budgets.
• Handle flight reservations, ticket issuance, reissuance, cancellations and refunds in line with company policy.
• Promote and sell travel products: domestic and international flights, hotels, tours, holiday packages and visa assistance.
• Build relationships with individual travellers, corporate clients and travel agents.
• Follow up quotations and pending requests to turn enquiries into confirmed bookings.
• Ensure bookings are processed correctly and comply with payment and ticketing procedures.
• Maintain customer records, booking information and sales reports; identify repeat business, referrals and cross-selling opportunities.
• Resolve customer complaints and give timely support before, during and after travel.
• Meet sales and revenue targets and take part in marketing and business development.

Required profile

• Minimum of OND, HND or Bachelor's degree in Tourism, Hospitality, Business Administration or a related field.
• Previous experience in a travel agency, airline or travel management company is an advantage.
• Good communication, negotiation, customer service and sales skills.
• Strong attention to detail, organisation and ability to work under pressure.

Required skills

• Knowledge of GDS platforms such as Amadeus, Sabre or Galileo is an advantage.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic digital tools.
