Technical Supervisor – WASH Infrastructure

About the role

The Technical Supervisor – WASH Infrastructure will support the EU‑backed SIDPIN project in Nigeria, working under the Project Officer WASH and the WASH/Infrastructure Project Assistant. The role focuses on planning, implementing, monitoring and reporting on water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) infrastructure activities that improve living conditions for displaced households and host communities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the planning, construction, rehabilitation, upgrading and maintenance of emergency water supply and habitation facilities.
• Conduct field assessments, site selection and feasibility checks for infrastructure works across targeted locations.
• Prepare material requests, verify technical specifications and ensure quality of supplies and contractor deliveries.
• Develop basic technical layouts, measurements, bills of quantities (BoQs) and sketches for planned works.
• Perform topographical measurements, setting‑out exercises and site demarcation to guide implementation.
• Monitor site‑level works to ensure compliance with approved designs, safety standards, Sphere standards and quality expectations.
• Support community engagement, including mobilization, sensitisation and feedback collection related to infrastructure activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising construction or rehabilitation of WASH infrastructure in humanitarian or development contexts.
• Ability to work closely with state authorities, local government areas and UN partners.
• Strong understanding of safety, quality and humanitarian standards (e.g., Sphere).
• Good analytical and reporting skills.
