Technical Manager, Tower Maintenance

About the role

We are seeking a Technical Manager to lead tower maintenance activities across ATC Nigeria’s owned and managed sites. The role ensures that contractors comply with the Tower Maintenance Agreement, maintains safety and regulatory standards, and supports the reliability of our telecommunications infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor tower maintenance works and deliverables, ensuring contractor compliance with agreement terms.
• Review inspection reports and photographs for completeness, accuracy and consistency.
• Identify major structural risks, propose mitigation solutions and manage tower replacement projects.
• Oversee the tower painting programme to meet regulatory requirements.
• Monitor Aircraft Warning Lights via remote systems and ensure timely rectification of faults.
• Review Bills of Quantities, acceptance requests and invoices, ensuring work is completed within approved budgets.
• Provide technical direction to contractors during execution of works.
• Conduct periodic audits with ATC Nigeria Field Supervisors to verify compliance with quality standards.
• Maintain up‑to‑date antenna inventory databases and flag unauthorized installations.
• Ensure all maintenance documentation is properly filed and uploaded to approved management tools.
• Track maintenance activities and deliver regular status reports to the Engineering Manager.
• Supervise direct reports, handle personnel issues, and partner with HR for recruitment and development.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing tower or infrastructure maintenance projects.
• Strong understanding of health, safety and environmental legislation in Nigeria.
• Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience supervising teams and handling personnel matters.
• Commitment to confidentiality and adherence to company policies.
