Technical Manager – Concrete Mix Design

About the role

The Technical Manager – A&C will lead concrete quality procedures, drive innovative mix designs, and manage raw material sourcing to ensure high‑performance ready‑mix concrete across HBM Nigeria’s plants.

Key responsibilities

• Implement the quality manual, monitor QC results, and track KPIs for concrete and raw materials.
• Develop, validate, and optimise concrete mix designs in line with specifications and standards.
• Select and qualify raw material suppliers, negotiate agreements, and maintain the mix‑design database.
• Provide technical support to sales teams, assist on‑site, and handle product‑related customer claims.
• Lead health‑and‑safety initiatives, conduct monthly plant visits, and document compliance.
• Analyse statistical data on produced concrete, manage benchmarks, and drive cost‑saving actions.
• Mentor direct reports and ensure the Quality Control team maintains required competencies.

Required profile

• Executive‑level experience (minimum 10 years) in concrete production, mix design, or related engineering fields.
• Proven track record in quality management, raw‑material optimisation, and customer technical support.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to interpret QC data and implement corrective measures.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with regional managers, sales, and HSE teams.
