About the role
The Technical Director will lead the design, implementation and monitoring of the USDA Food for Progress Nigeria project, focusing on poultry and aquaculture value chains. Based in Lagos, the role ensures technical quality and drives productivity improvements while reducing non‑tariff trade barriers.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the three core project activities, from planning through evaluation.
- Provide leadership, training and mentorship to technical staff and partners.
- Identify bottlenecks, design operating systems and facilitate stakeholder coordination.
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards and trade regulations.
- Report progress and results directly to the Chief of Party.
Required profile
- Executive‑level experience (minimum 10 years) in agricultural project management.
- Deep expertise in poultry and aquaculture production systems.
- Proven track record of improving productivity and competitiveness in the agricultural sector.
- Experience working with international donors and navigating non‑tariff trade barriers.
