About the role
The Tally Officer is responsible for accurately recording and documenting cargo movements within the terminal. This role supports efficient and accountable operations by tracking cargo discharge, storage, and delivery at the GDNL Terminal ‘E’ in Apapa Port.
Key responsibilities
- Record details of cargo discharged from vessels accurately and promptly.
- Maintain records of cargo stored within the terminal perimeter.
- Track and document cargo delivery and dispatch activities.
- Record details of trucks accessing and exiting the terminal.
- Issue delivery documents for cargo clearance in line with procedures.
- Verify cargo quantities, condition, and identification against documentation.
- Report discrepancies, damages, or shortages promptly.
- Maintain organized and up‑to‑date records and documentation.
- Coordinate with operations and security teams to ensure accurate tracking.
- Adhere to company policies and operational procedures for record‑keeping.
Required profile
- Physical fitness.
- Excellent communication and writing skills.
- Computer literacy.
- Minimum OND or equivalent qualification.
- 0–1 years of experience in a similar role.
- Age not more than 30 years.
