Talent Screening Associate (Remote Phone Screening)

About the role

This is a fully remote, phone-based talent screening role. You take applicants from an introductory screening call through basic fit questions to an agreed next step. Incoming applications become candidate lists shared by recruiters, whom you call; you listen to answers, explain the process and arrange interviews when candidates meet the recruiter's basic rules. A recruiting team lead provides approved questions, checks your work and helps with unfamiliar requests. The role pays a monthly base salary plus bonus opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Review the candidate list in an applicant tracking system such as Lever and plan calls around outstanding screening questions and follow-ups.
• Call each applicant through a business phone system such as Dialpad, introduce yourself and explain why you are calling.
• Ask approved questions about interest, availability, workspace and spoken English, listen without interrupting and write clear answers for the recruiter.
• Explain the next step using approved information, answer simple questions and refer unfamiliar requests to the team lead.
• Mark candidates as ready, not ready or not suitable according to the recruiter's rules, recording the reason without unsupported judgments.
• Arrange interviews using a scheduling tool such as Google Calendar, confirm the date and time, repeat the arrangements before ending the call, send a reminder and contact candidates after missed interviews.
• Save call results and next actions in the candidate record, share screening notes before the recruiter's interview, and mark wrong numbers, duplicates and withdrawals.
• Keep candidate information private and meet quality standards through accurate notes, polite calls, correct bookings and prompt follow-up.

Required profile

• Professional spoken and written English, as calls are generally with candidates and teams in the United States.
• A computer, a mobile phone, a stable internet connection and reliable electricity.
• No recruiting experience required; related phone screening, customer service or interview scheduling experience is preferred.
• Calm, friendly phone voice and confidence introducing yourself to someone new.
• Ability to follow a short question guide, listen carefully and separate a candidate's answers from your own assumptions.
• Willingness to learn the named tools through guided practice and feedback, and respect for candidate privacy.
