System and Customer Reliability Engineer (Hybrid)

About the role

Alfred & Victoria Associates, a Nigerian ICT solutions company offering consulting, recruitment and training services, is recruiting a full-time System and Customer Reliability Engineer in Lagos. The role is hybrid, combining remote work with on-site presence at customer offices for delivery and support. It covers incident ownership from L1 escalation through resolution and root cause analysis, P1/P2 response, change management, system delivery and automation.

Key responsibilities

• Own escalations from L1 within SLA, troubleshoot deeply across systems, applications and networks, and close tickets with documented resolution
• Lead P1 and P2 incidents: analyse logs and metrics, deploy hotfixes or workarounds, validate restoration and communicate progress to stakeholders
• Prepare root cause analyses, identify recurring issues and work with Engineering on permanent fixes
• Assess change risks, create rollout and rollback plans, execute changes in scheduled windows and update runbooks
• Deliver customer projects end-to-end, including installation, configuration, integration, testing and handover to support
• Build automation, tools and dashboards, maintain the knowledge base and runbooks, and train L1/L2 teams
• Monitor service health dashboards (SLIs, SLOs) and weekly incident trends, and deliver incident data to Governance

Required profile

• First degree in Computer Science, IT or Engineering
• Solid experience in technical support, SRE, DevOps or system administration
• Hands-on with Kubernetes and Docker, on-premises and cloud infrastructure
• Strong documentation habits and clear communication with customers and technical teams
