Supervisor – Transport Operations

About the role

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Supervisor – Transport Operations to lead the efficient deployment of transport assets, ensure exceptional service delivery, and act as the primary liaison between the business and its customers.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise daily transport operations and fleet deployment activities.
• Manage and oversee the activities of Fleet Controllers.
• Monitor trip performance, truck utilization, transit times, and fleet availability.
• Escalate operational challenges and major incidents to the Transport Operations Manager.
• Coordinate vehicle inspections before and after deployment.
• Work with workshop services to resolve vehicle faults and oversee maintenance activities.
• Maintain accurate documentation of incidents, accidents, and insurance claims.
• Serve as the key liaison with customers, providing shipment updates and handling delivery issues.
• Act as a super‑user for transport management systems (ERP, i‑Manager, SAP) and ensure timely data entry.
• Reconcile trip revenues, mileage, PODs, and delivery timelines for billing.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising transport or fleet operations.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle performance monitoring and maintenance coordination.
• Ability to manage client relationships and communicate delivery status effectively.
• Familiarity with safety, operational, and service standards in transport.
• Experience using transport management systems and handling operational data.
