Subject Teacher – Secondary School

About the role

Hermon Heights Model College is seeking dedicated subject teachers to join its secondary school team in the Ogunmakin region. You will be responsible for delivering high‑quality instruction that aligns with the national WAEC/NECO curriculum while fostering a Christian‑based learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver comprehensive lesson plans for the assigned subject.
• Administer tests, examinations and continuous assessments to monitor student progress.
• Maintain classroom discipline and manage the learning environment in line with the school’s Christian values.
• Keep accurate records of attendance, grades and student performance.
• Identify students needing extra support and provide targeted academic mentorship.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development workshops and parent‑teacher conferences.
• Collaborate with colleagues and school management to promote a holistic educational experience.

Required profile

• Minimum H.N.D in the relevant subject; PGDE is highly advantageous.
• At least 2 years of secondary‑school teaching experience.
• Deep knowledge and mastery of the specific subject to be taught.
• High moral standards, integrity and willingness to work within a faith‑based framework.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Willingness to relocate to or commute within the Ogunmakin region (staff accommodation provided).
• Registration with the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) is a plus.
