Music Tutor

About the role

Taidob College is seeking a passionate Music Tutor to join its teaching team in Abeokuta. You will be responsible for delivering engaging music lessons that align with the school curriculum and support students’ artistic development.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver music lessons covering theory, notation, rhythm, melody, harmony and scales.
• Provide practical instruction in vocal performance and one or more musical instruments.
• Organise rehearsals, performances, choir activities and other musical events.
• Prepare lesson plans, assignments, tests and examinations, and assess student progress regularly.
• Maintain musical instruments and department resources, ensuring proper storage and upkeep.
• Incorporate digital tools and technology into teaching where appropriate.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments and academic progress.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Music, Music Education, Performing Arts or a related field.
• At least one year of teaching or tutoring experience is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of music theory and practical performance.
• Ability to teach students of varying musical abilities with patience and enthusiasm.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and classroom‑management skills.
