Strategic Information Advisor

About the role

FHI 360 is hiring a Strategic Information Advisor in Lagos, Nigeria, under the supervision of the Senior Total Quality Leadership, Accountability and Quality Improvement Advisor. The Advisor gives technical leadership to government stakeholders, health facilities and community implementing structures to strengthen integrated health information systems, monitoring, evaluation and learning, data quality and performance management for HIV, TB, malaria, MNCH, laboratory services and outbreak preparedness.

Key responsibilities

• Support integrated health information systems and data quality assurance across HIV, TB, malaria, MNCH, laboratory, surveillance and supply chain data
• Strengthen monitoring, evaluation and learning frameworks and performance-monitoring systems
• Promote interoperability of digital health platforms such as DHIS2, LAMISPlus, NDR, RADET, NHMIS and NDARS
• Develop standardized indicators, data flows, reporting architecture and data quality improvement plans
• Track SI milestones weekly and monthly, and support Situation Rooms and response coordination rooms
• Facilitate performance review meetings, root-cause analysis and corrective actions
• Build disease dashboards, scorecards and intelligence packages using Power BI, Excel and other tools
• Train government staff, health workers and partners on DHIS2, LAMISPlus, NDR, RADET, NDARS, Power BI and data quality assurance
• Prepare technical reports, validation and DQA reports, and knowledge products for donors and partners
• Represent FHI 360 in technical working groups and contribute to project work plans and budgets

Required profile

• Knowledge of health and development programs in developing countries, especially Nigeria
• Expertise in M&E, research, learning and data management for HIV/AIDS, TB and MNCH or similar public health programs
• Strong knowledge of Nigeria's health information systems and USG-funded program reporting requirements
• Experience strengthening M&E capacity of government, health workers and implementing partners
• Ability to write clear technical documents and train others

Required skills

• Data quality assessment, verification, validation, triangulation and root-cause analysis
• Data analysis and visualization with Microsoft Excel, Power BI, STATA, Epi Info or similar
• GIS and spatial analysis tools are desirable
