Senior Technical Advisor, Integrated Health Services

About the role

FHI 360 is recruiting a Senior Technical Advisor for Integrated Health Services in Akwa Ibom, Nigeria, reporting to the Director, Technical Assistance and Strategic Results Utilization. The advisor leads and supports the project's work on HIV, TB, malaria, MNCH and GHS integration, coordinating services so that multi-disease programmes fit into national and sub-national health systems with high-quality care and integrated disease surveillance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical support for clinical management of integrated HIV/AIDS, TB, malaria and MNCH strategies
• Help government and local partners organise testing, linkage, retention, referral and follow-up around client-centred pathways
• Support adaptation of essential care packages, clinical workflow tools and referral protocols
• Build integrated data quality assurance, dashboards, performance analytics, indicator triangulation and client-level alerts
• Institutionalise QA/QI tools and develop guidelines and SOPs for prevention, care and treatment
• Develop training packages, job aids and digital tools for the local health workforce
• Strengthen government capacity to use routine programme data and support rapid response protocols and outbreak readiness
• Supervise technical and government staff on service quality using the TQLA model, and help manage work plans and budgets
• Document lessons learned and contribute to scaling up of programmes

Required profile

• MB.BS/MD/PhD with over 12 years of multi-disease programming experience in Nigeria, including at least 5 years at senior management level; or another biological science degree with at least 11 years' experience and 5 years at senior management level
• Masters degree (MPH or related field) required
• Proven experience in project development, planning and technical training facilitation
• Experience with PEPFAR-funded projects and familiarity with the Nigerian public sector health system, NGOs and CBOs highly desirable
• Ability to travel within Nigeria about 45% of the time

Required skills

• High proficiency in written and spoken English, including presentation and training skills
• Well-developed computer skills
• Ability to supervise staff and represent FHI 360 to donors and government officials
