About the role
The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) is seeking a State Coordinator to lead the implementation of the I‑Youth 2.0 programme in Ogun State. This 2‑year renewable contract role will oversee day‑to‑day activities, manage a multidisciplinary team, and ensure the delivery of training, enterprise development and incubation services for youth agripreneurs.
Key responsibilities
- Lead daily implementation of I‑Youth 2.0 activities in line with approved workplans, budgets and timelines.
- Supervise and manage the state project team, including technical officers and field staff.
- Coordinate state‑level training, enterprise development and incubation activities for youth agripreneurs in priority value chains.
- Oversee operations of the state‑based Agribusiness Park or incubation hub, where applicable.
- Build and maintain relationships with state ministries, traditional institutions, private sector actors and financial institutions.
- Collect, analyse and report monitoring and evaluation data; maintain the network of I‑Youth trained agripreneurs and alumni.
- Manage state budget and procurement, ensuring compliance with IITA and donor financial requirements.
- Prepare narrative and financial reports for the Country Coordinator and ensure compliance with safeguarding and ethics policies.
- Represent the project at meetings, events and stakeholder engagements within Ogun State.
Required profile
- Master’s degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, Business Administration, Development Studies, Economics, Social Sciences or a related discipline.
- Minimum of five years of relevant experience managing agricultural development projects or youth entrepreneurship programmes.
- Proven experience supervising multidisciplinary teams and handling budgets and procurement.
