Feed Mill Manager

About the role

The Feed Mill Manager will lead all feed‑production activities at Davidorlah Farms, overseeing crop planting, livestock care and the processing of animal feed. The role ensures efficient operations, high product quality and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse current operations, crops, livestock, staff and financial documents and recommend improvements.
• Prepare planting and harvesting schedules and communicate expectations to staff.
• Inspect divisions, conduct soil and water tests, and monitor crop and livestock health.
• Maintain inventory of seeds, fertilizers, pesticides and other supplies.
• Schedule repairs, maintenance and replacement of equipment and machinery.
• Manage marketing and sale of farm products such as fruit, vegetables, dairy, meat and grain.
• Ensure health and safety regulations are followed by all staff.
• Assist in recruitment, training and mentoring of new and trainee staff.
• Collaborate with senior staff on budgeting and financial reporting.
• Drive tractors, operate machinery, feed livestock and spray fields as needed.
• Monitor yield quality, weather impacts and contingency plans.
• Maintain compliance with government regulations and standard operating procedures.

Required profile

• Minimum BSc in Animal Nutrition.
• At least 3 years of experience in fish feed production.
• Strong understanding of feed conversion ratios, line utilization and operating cost metrics.
• Ability to prepare budgets, financial reports and maintain accurate records.
