Software Engineering Team Lead – FinTech (Lagos)

About the role

Join M‑KOPA’s fast‑growing FinTech engineering team as a Software Engineering Team Lead. You will drive the design and delivery of a new loan origination architecture, compliance systems, and pricing platform that will power the company’s expansion across Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team of backend engineers on greenfield and legacy projects, owning the full software lifecycle from design to production and decommissioning.
• Set architectural direction and ensure adherence to a true DevOps culture, including infrastructure as code, observability, automated testing, and continuous delivery.
• Partner closely with the Product Manager on roadmap planning, prioritisation, and feature definition.
• Act as a servant leader, mentoring engineers and fostering high‑quality, impactful software delivery.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading backend engineering teams in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong understanding of full‑stack software development and lifecycle management.
• Ability to collaborate with product and cross‑functional stakeholders.

Required skills

• C# / .NET
• Microsoft Azure (experience with AWS or GCP is a plus)
• DevOps practices: infrastructure as code, observability, automated testing, continuous delivery
