Shift Team Leader – Production

About the role

The Shift Team Leader will oversee production activities on a designated shift at our Aba bottling plant. You will ensure that production targets are met while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and cost efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Coach and support operators on the shop floor.
• Coordinate with the technical team to resolve breakdowns promptly.
• Drive start‑up timing according to plan after each production run.
• Reduce waste across the shop floor (crown, closure, syrup, sugar, label, shrink film, etc.).
• Implement and audit GMP/GHK standards, ensuring 100% compliance.
• Monitor and control main cost drivers, including raw‑material losses.
• Enforce PPE and food‑safety rules (no jewellery, beard covers, no eating/drinking on lines).
• Report near‑misses and non‑conformances and follow up for resolution.
• Maintain quality‑control parameters (Brix, fill height, carbonation, torque) within target ranges.
• Manage raw and packaging material staging and usage.
• Escalate any production delays to the line manager.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising production operators in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of GMP/GHK and food‑safety regulations.
• Ability to analyse cost drivers and implement waste‑reduction initiatives.
• Excellent communication skills to lead by example and coach staff.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and compliance standards.
