Senior Site Reliability Engineer

About the role

Moniepoint Inc. is looking for an experienced Senior Site Reliability Engineer to ensure the reliability of its highly distributed financial platform. You will combine deep knowledge of distributed systems with strong coding abilities to define SLOs, lead incident response, and build automation that reduces manual intervention.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in on‑call rotations as the primary technical lead and act as Incident Commander for major incidents.
• Instrument code to expose high‑cardinality metrics and distributed traces.
• Define, measure, and defend Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and error budgets with product owners.
• Write production‑ready code in Java, Go, or Python to build internal tooling, automation platforms, and self‑healing mechanisms.
• Partner with product engineering teams during design to embed reliability, scalability, and observability patterns.
• Analyze system performance, model capacity needs, and conduct load‑testing and chaos‑engineering experiments.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering or Backend Engineering.
• Proven ability to write clean, performant, and tested code.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems architecture, microservices, and event‑driven designs.
• Extensive experience operating production workloads on Google Cloud Platform or comparable cloud providers (AWS, Azure).
