Senior Nutrition Project Officer

About the role

The Senior Nutrition Project Officer will lead the design, implementation and technical oversight of nutrition interventions for at‑risk mothers and infants, including MAMI, CMAM and MIYCN approaches, targeting vulnerable IDPs and host communities.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure quality and timely field‑level implementation of nutrition programmes against set objectives, targets and work plans.
• Advise and assist partner nutrition teams in developing project‑specific strategies, tools, systems and plans.
• Develop activity workplans and coordinate them with other sectors and implementing partners.
• Apply international best practices, Ministry of Health, WHO and UNICEF guidelines.
• Oversee data collection, reporting and monitoring in line with donor and CRS guidelines.
• Conduct field visits, surveys and partner exchanges to monitor progress and resolve bottlenecks.
• Lead development of routine monitoring tools and IEC materials for MAMI, CMAM, MIYCN‑E and SBCC activities.
• Contribute to situation analysis and ensure up‑to‑date nutrition data for programme design.
• Identify opportunities for programme and proposal development in line with CRS and donor requirements.
• Coordinate procurement, delivery and distribution of nutrition supplies at field level.
• Participate in proposal writing and budget development for nutrition programmes.
• Lead technical assessments to adapt programmes to evolving community needs.
• Provide on‑the‑job training, technical guidance and supervision to CRS nutrition team and partner staff.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing nutrition programmes for mothers and infants.
• Experience supervising nutrition officers, community mobilisers and counsellors.
• Familiarity with Ministry of Health, WHO and UNICEF nutrition guidelines.
• Ability to develop workplans, monitoring tools and IEC materials.
