Senior Mine Engineer

About the role

Zotmann International Limited is looking for a Senior Mine Engineer to lead the planning and production of its mining operations in Ebonyi, Nigeria. The role involves overseeing all aspects of mine design, execution and continuous improvement to ensure safe and efficient operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage short, medium and long‑term mine plans, pit designs, dump sequences and stockpiles.
• Supervise production activities including drilling & blasting, excavation, hauling and pit dewatering.
• Prepare production schedules, monitor operational costs and evaluate equipment performance.
• Lead the Mine Production team comprising engineers, mine captains, supervisors and operators.
• Review geological, hydrological, geotechnical and resource models to support planning.
• Provide technical support and analysis for mine projects and operational improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or related discipline (master’s degree advantageous).
• 8–12 years of mining experience with 3–5 years in a senior or supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of mining legislation, safety standards and best practices.
• Proven leadership, problem‑solving and communication abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Deswik software.
• Proficiency with Surpac software.
