Senior Manager, Tax & Treasury

About the role

Smile Communications Nigeria Limited is seeking a Senior Manager to lead its Tax and Treasury function. The role is responsible for overseeing cash flow, investment strategies, and tax compliance to support the company’s growth and financial stability.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, monitor and manage cash utilization and daily financing decisions.
• Forecast daily cash requirements and maintain cash flow forecasts.
• Develop and execute short‑term and long‑term investment strategies.
• Define the company’s tax position, ensure compliance with tax laws and prepare VAT, income tax and withholding tax returns.
• Maintain treasury policies, controls and risk‑management activities.
• Negotiate loan and overdraft facilities with banks and manage banking relationships.
• Evaluate alternative borrowing strategies and recommend capital‑structure actions.
• Conduct financial modelling and benchmark studies of banking services.
• Identify process improvements and implement cash‑management systems.

Required profile

• Proven experience in treasury, cash management and corporate tax functions.
• Strong analytical ability to forecast cash needs and assess investment opportunities.
• Excellent understanding of tax regulations and compliance requirements.
• Ability to work with financial service providers and negotiate terms.
• Experience in preparing and reviewing complex tax returns.
