Operations Manager – Startup Back‑Office Operations

About the role

ChoreChore runs the back‑office for US startup founders, handling HR, payroll, finance and compliance. As an Operations Manager you will be the point person who keeps these critical functions running smoothly for multiple early‑stage companies.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end back‑office operations for clients, including HR, finance, payroll and compliance.
• Project‑manage critical operational matters and act as the primary liaison with founders and strategic partners.
• Coordinate with accountants to file taxes, issue NDAs, and resolve regulatory or vendor issues.
• Provide strategic advice on compensation, benchmarks and equity structures.
• Research and solve edge‑case problems, select cost‑effective tools and vendors.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience delivering finance, payroll or compliance outcomes for US clients.
• Proactive problem‑solver who escalates with recommendations, not questions.
• Excellent written and spoken communication; comfortable presenting to founders.
• Willing to work US business hours (EST or PST) on a long‑term basis.
