Senior Litigation Associate (5+ Years Post-Call)

About the role

The Senior Associate, Litigation will lead the management and resolution of complex legal disputes for our clients in Lagos. Reporting to the Senior Associate Network (SAN), you will advise on litigation strategies, oversee external counsel, and ensure effective communication throughout the case lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Interview witnesses, gather evidence, and coordinate expert testimony.
• Draft pleadings, legal briefs, motions, and other court documents.
• Prepare witnesses for court appearances and present cases in court.
• Communicate regularly with clients to update them on case status and developments.
• Conduct legal research and review agreements and other documents.
• Provide legal opinions and draft agreements with minimal supervision.
• Negotiate settlements and manage procedural and substantive law matters.
• Perform any other duties reasonably attached to the position.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s Degree in Law and admission to the Nigerian Law School (5+ years post‑call).
• At least five years of litigation experience in a reputable law firm; appellate court experience is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, high integrity, and respect for confidentiality.
• Excellent judgment, analytical ability, and self‑motivation.
• Leadership qualities and the ability to work effectively in diverse teams.
