Senior Internal Auditor – International Business

About the role

The Senior Internal Auditor – International Business will lead the risk‑based internal audit plan for CapitalSage Holdings, providing independent assurance to senior management and the Board. The role focuses on auditing international trade, sourcing, processing, import/export, FMCG, and logistics operations across multiple regions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute audits of international trade operations, including imports, exports, tariff classification, valuation, origin, intercompany trade, and re‑exports.
• Review intercompany and third‑party trade flows, margin allocation, and transfer‑pricing controls.
• Assess customs, valuation, inventory, and financial reporting risks linked to commodity processing.
• Evaluate customs documentation, trade entries, licences, permits and compliance with trade agreements such as USMCA, EU FTAs, CPTPP.
• Identify discrepancies, recommend corrective actions, and support voluntary disclosures or government inquiries.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of changing trade laws and deliver compliance training.
• Prepare audit reports, dashboards, presentations and working papers to quality standards.
• Integrate trade and customs risks into the enterprise risk register and monitor updates.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in internal audit with a focus on international trade and customs compliance.
• Strong understanding of trade regulations across Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Asia and the United States.
• Proven ability to analyse complex trade transactions, identify risk exposures and drive process improvements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting to senior stakeholders.
