Senior Finance Officer – Banking & Fintech Expertise

About the role

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Finance Officer to lead financial operations within a fast‑growing financial services organization. The role combines hands‑on accounting, regulatory compliance, and strategic financial analysis to support business decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and present monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
• Manage general ledger, reconciliations, and month‑end closing activities.
• Oversee bank and payment account reconciliations, promptly resolving discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements such as tax filings, VAT, withholding tax, and regulatory submissions.
• Support external audit processes and coordinate required documentation.
• Monitor daily cash flow and handle treasury‑related activities.
• Maintain accurate accounts payable and receivable records.
• Develop financial reports, forecasts, and models to aid management decision‑making.
• Strengthen internal financial controls and ensure adherence to applicable regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field.
• 6–8 years of progressive finance, accounting or financial management experience, preferably in banking, fintech or other regulated financial institutions.
• Professional qualification – ICAN (ACA) or ACCA is mandatory.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial modelling.
• Experience with accounting/ERP systems such as Sage, QuickBooks or SAP.
• Good understanding of IFRS standards, tax compliance and financial reporting frameworks.
