Senior Electrical Sales Engineer / BDM
diversitytalentrecruitment · Lagos
Job description
About the role
A senior electrical sales engineer is needed to own and grow the electrical power business across Nigeria, selling low-voltage power distribution products and solutions to factories, contractors, consultants, panel builders, developers and commercial clients. The role carries a N1.25bn annual sales target, real commercial autonomy and a commission scheme. The position is full-time and permanent.
Key responsibilities
- Build and run a high-value pipeline across industrial, commercial, construction and infrastructure sectors through field visits, project tracking and consultant engagement.
- Win corporate bids, tenders and projects end to end, from specification and technical recommendation through quotation, negotiation, order confirmation, delivery and payment.
- Sell low-voltage power distribution solutions: wiring devices, switchgear, panels, breakers, protection devices, enclosures and related products, with automation and control solutions where relevant.
- Manage key accounts at senior level, including factories, EPC and MEP contractors, consultants, panel builders, developers and trading companies.
- Prepare accurate technical and commercial offers, negotiate terms and protect margin while closing.
- Follow every deal through to collection, working with technical, tendering, procurement, logistics and finance teams.
- Track competitor activity, pricing and market trends and feed that intelligence back to management.
- Deliver the annual target of N1.25bn with accurate forecasts, pipeline updates and CRM records.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree or HND in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Several years of hands-on experience in the MEP industry, ideally across electrical, mechanical, pumps, HVAC, solar/energy or industrial engineering solutions, with deep specialism in electrical power products in Nigeria.
- Proven track record of winning corporate bids, tenders and projects, with clear evidence of deals closed, project values and revenue delivered against target.
- Strong command of the Nigerian industrial, commercial and construction markets.
- Ability to work independently and travel regularly for customer and project visits; a valid driver's licence is strongly preferred.
Required skills
- Strong technical knowledge of low-voltage distribution products and systems, demonstrable to client engineers.
- Negotiation, presentation, reporting and relationship-management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
- Strongly preferred: ABB product knowledge or experience, familiarity with brands such as ABB, Schneider Electric, Siemens, CHINT or Legrand, and working knowledge of automation and control solutions.
What we offer
- Base salary of 1.2M to 1.5M monthly depending on experience.
- Merit-based progression, continuous technical and commercial training and a collaborative, supportive team.
