Senior Baker

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Baker to join our team at Kenex Konsults International in Port Harcourt. The role involves preparing a wide range of baked goods, maintaining high quality standards, and ensuring a clean and safe work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and bake bread, cakes, pastries, cookies and other bakery products following established recipes.
• Measure and mix ingredients accurately, and prepare doughs, batters, fillings and creams.
• Operate ovens, mixers, proofers and other bakery equipment efficiently.
• Monitor baking temperatures, timing, proofing and product consistency.
• Decorate and finish cakes and pastries as required.
• Inspect finished products for quality, taste, appearance and consistency.
• Maintain hygiene and sanitation throughout the baking process.
• Manage ingredient usage to minimise waste and monitor raw material freshness.
• Keep accurate records of production and ingredient usage.
• Clean and maintain bakery equipment, tools and work areas.

Required profile

• Proven professional baking experience, preferably in a bakery, hotel, restaurant or catering environment.
• Strong knowledge of bread, pastries, cakes and other baked products.
• Ability to work early mornings, weekends, holidays or flexible shifts.
• Capability to work efficiently under pressure and meet production deadlines.
• Creativity and willingness to develop new products.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.

Required skills

• Operation of commercial bakery equipment such as ovens, mixers and proofers.
• Accurate measurement and mixing of ingredients.
• Knowledge of baking techniques, temperature control and production processes.
• Food hygiene and safety practices.
