Senior Backend Developer .NET

About the role

247Bet is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to design, develop, and maintain high‑performance services that power real‑time betting, payments, and social features for thousands of users. This full‑time hybrid position is based in Lagos and offers the chance to shape the core architecture of a fast‑growing gaming platform.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable backend services using C# and .NET 8+
• Build and maintain APIs (REST and gRPC) for mobile and frontend teams
• Develop core domains such as bet placement, wallet & payments, live sports data ingestion, and social feeds
• Write clean, well‑tested code and actively participate in code reviews
• Manage data storage with PostgreSQL (including complex queries, indexing, JSONB)
• Implement caching and pub/sub patterns with Redis
• Handle event streaming using Kafka
• Own reliability through monitoring, alerting, and incident response
• Mentor junior engineers and influence architectural decisions

Required profile

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience
• Strong expertise in C# and .NET (preferably .NET 6/8)
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, API design, and event‑driven architecture
• Experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, and Kafka or equivalent message brokers
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS, and container orchestration (Kubernetes/EKS)
• Proven track record of mentoring engineers and raising technical standards
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across product, mobile, and frontend teams
