Senior Architect – Finishing Works / Interior Fit‑Out Completion

About the role

The role is for a senior, site‑based architect responsible for high‑end finishing works and interior fit‑out delivery. It focuses on quality control, coordination of contractor shop drawings and MEP/ELV interfaces, and driving floor‑by‑floor completion within an 8‑month programme.

Key responsibilities

• Review and comment on architectural, fit‑out, ceiling, partition, joinery, door, furniture and finish drawings; maintain drawing and material submittal registers.
• Coordinate sample boards, benchmark rooms, material approvals and mock‑ups before mass installation.
• Conduct daily site inspections, verify workmanship, tolerances and substrate readiness, reject defective works and keep photographic records.
• Synchronise architectural finishes with MEP, ELV, AV, ICT, lighting, sprinklers, HVAC diffusers, access control and furniture.
• Monitor finishing programmes, 2‑week look‑aheads, identify critical long‑lead items and escalate delays.
• Track finish materials, partition systems, doors, ironmongery, furniture, samples and factory production status.
• Lead floor‑by‑floor snagging, de‑snagging, final inspection and handover acceptance.
• Issue weekly architectural finishing reports covering progress, quality risks, submittals, procurement risks and handover status.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture (Master’s preferred).
• 12–15 years of architectural experience, with at least 8–10 years managing finishing works or interior fit‑out projects.
• Member of the Nigerian Institute of Architects or equivalent; ARCON registration or eligibility preferred.
• Strong site‑based experience including inspections, mock‑ups, shop drawing review, coordination meetings, snagging and handover.
• Completed at least two projects above 20,000 m² or one major HQ, hotel, airport, luxury commercial or Grade A office tower.
