Senior Advisor – Child Protection (French Speaking)

About the role

Save the Children International is seeking a Senior Advisor, Child Protection (French Speaking) to provide strategic, technical and operational leadership for its global child protection portfolio. The role will support country offices in West and Central Africa, drive business development, and represent the organization in global clusters and partnerships.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialized technical guidance to country teams to ensure high‑quality child protection programme implementation.
• Conduct regular reviews of child protection awards for donor compliance and identify improvement opportunities.
• Support the development of proposals and strategic plans, aligning them with Save the Children’s mission and donor requirements.
• Design and oversee capacity‑building and training initiatives for national and local partners.
• Lead and contribute to internal and external working groups to share best practices and advance sector learning.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in child protection programming, preferably in West or Central Africa.
• Proven ability to work with donors, develop proposals and ensure compliance.
• Strong analytical skills and experience in reviewing programme performance.
• Fluency in English and French.
• Willingness to travel up to 40% internationally.

• Technical expertise in child protection standards and guidelines.
• Knowledge of donor regulations and reporting requirements.
• Capacity‑building and training design experience.
