Senior Accountant – Real Estate

About the role

Monas Consulting is seeking a senior‑level accountant to join its real‑estate finance team in Lagos. The role focuses on maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and supporting strategic budgeting for property projects.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain ledgers, manage accounts payable/receivable, process payroll and perform bank reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
• Handle VAT, WHT, CIT and FIRS filings to ensure timely tax compliance.
• Assist in budget preparation, monitor variances and suggest cost‑control measures.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors, providing required documentation.
• Implement and monitor internal financial controls to prevent fraud and errors.
• Track cash flow, project‑based expenses and produce cash‑flow forecasts.
• Maintain accounting software data integrity and support system upgrades.

Required profile

• BSc/HND in Accounting, Finance or related field; ICAN/ACCA qualification is a plus.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, preferably within real‑estate or construction.
• High integrity, strong analytical mindset and ability to meet strict deadlines.
• Residency in Lekki‑Ajah and immediate availability to start.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage or Zoho Books.
