Senior Accountant

About the role

Swan Medico, a distribution and sales company for medicines and medical products based in Abuja, is looking for a highly organized and diligent Senior Accountant. The role reports directly to the Global Head of Finance and covers financial operations, local and international transactions, and ensures accurate financial tracking, transparency and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Perform regular bank reconciliations across multiple bank accounts and currencies
• Ensure all company expenses are documented with receipts attached and linked to bookings
• Track and reconcile monthly customer payments; report customer issues to the CEO and Global Head of Finance
• Manage supplier payments and monitor currency conversions from Nigerian Naira to international currencies
• Track and verify payments sent from Nigeria to international banks
• Maintain accurate financial records and comply with company financial policies
• Register and count stock, report deviations to the CEO and Global Head of Finance
• Support the Global Head of Finance with financial reporting and documentation, and help improve financial processes and internal controls

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• Previous accounting or finance experience, preferably from a Big Four firm
• Experience with multi-currency transactions is an advantage
• Structured, detail-oriented, punctual, reliable, proactive and able to work independently

Required skills

• ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, SAP or similar
• Bank reconciliation, expense management, international payments and stock keeping
