Self Loader Operator

About the role

The Self Loader Operator is responsible for safely operating self‑loader trucks and hydraulic cranes to move materials across the site. This full‑time, onsite position supports mining, energy and metal operations in Port Harcourt.

Key responsibilities

• Operate self‑loader trucks and hydraulic cranes efficiently and in compliance with safety standards.
• Perform loading, lifting, transportation and off‑loading of materials.
• Conduct daily inspections of trucks and lifting equipment and report any faults.
• Secure loads properly before movement and follow approved lifting procedures.
• Maintain accurate operational and inspection records.
• Keep equipment clean and ensure proper care throughout the shift.

Required profile

• Minimum SSCE qualification.
• Valid driver’s licence with the appropriate class/category.
• At least 2 years of experience in lifting and transportation operations.
• Physically and medically fit for field work.
• Good understanding of road safety regulations and HSE procedures.

Required skills

• Self‑loader truck operation.
• Hydraulic crane operation.
• Basic vehicle and equipment maintenance.
• Knowledge of HSE compliance and safe lifting practices.
