Security Risk Manager

About the role

Lafiya is seeking a Security Risk Manager to ensure the safety of its teams operating in remote Nigerian communities. You will serve as the internal expert on international security standards, balancing rigorous risk management with the organization’s "Do No Harm" philosophy.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary security focal point, providing strategic advice on crisis management and evolving personnel risks.
• Maintain and update the Security Management Plan (SMP) and conduct regular Security Risk Assessments (SRA).
• Implement UN Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights, Anti‑Bribery and Corruption policies, and safeguards against sexual exploitation and abuse.
• Perform security vulnerability assessments of facilities, commodities, and staff environments.
• Define minimum‑security requirements for external service providers such as warehouses, transport, hotels, airlines, and ride‑hailing platforms.
• Audit third‑party transport and logistics partners to ensure compliance with Lafiya’s duty‑of‑care standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in security risk management, preferably in humanitarian or nonprofit settings.
• Strong knowledge of international security best practices and human‑rights‑based security frameworks.
• Ability to develop and enforce security policies, conduct risk assessments, and lead crisis response.
• Excellent communication skills for advising senior management and coordinating with external partners.
