Security Officer - Onne Port Terminal

About the role

Dangote Cement Plc. is looking for a Security Officer to protect its personnel, property and assets at the Onne Clinker Port Terminal. The postholder keeps the site safe and orderly by monitoring premises, enforcing security protocols and responding quickly to incidents or threats, while guiding security staff.

Key responsibilities

• Patrol assigned areas and detect or deter unauthorized activity, breaches and safety hazards.
• Enforce company security policies and comply with regulatory requirements.
• Supervise and coordinate security staff and help train new guards.
• Respond to alarms, emergencies and incidents, act appropriately and document events.
• Control access to the premises and verify identification for visitors, employees and contractors.
• Operate and monitor surveillance equipment, alarm systems and other security technology.
• Report incidents, daily activities and improvement recommendations.
• Work with law enforcement, emergency responders and other departments as needed.

Required profile

• First degree in Security Management, Criminology, Law or a related field.
• Retired from the Nigerian Armed Forces (Army, Navy, Air Force or Police) on Second Lieutenant or equivalent rank.
• At least five years of public security experience at officer level, preferably in industrial or large-facility settings.
• Ability to work shifts, including nights and weekends, and physical fitness.
