Security Officer

About the role

The Security Officer at Hyatt Regency Lagos, Ikeja maintains a safe and secure environment for guests, associates, visitors and hotel property. The role supports the hotel's commitment to genuine hospitality through a visible, professional and reassuring security presence, while ensuring safety and security procedures are followed consistently.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor hotel premises and conduct security patrols
• Control access to restricted areas
• Observe and report suspicious activities
• Respond promptly to incidents and emergencies
• Assist with investigations where required
• Work with the Security leadership team and other hotel departments to prevent loss, protect hotel assets, enforce security procedures and support smooth hotel operations

Required profile

• Minimum of a Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or equivalent; security management, criminology or a related qualification is an advantage
• Previous security experience, preferably in a hotel, upscale hospitality establishment or corporate environment
• Demonstrated integrity, discipline, confidentiality and respect for procedures
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and to work shifts, nights, weekends and public holidays
• Good physical fitness and flexibility to work the required hours

Required skills

• Knowledge of access control, security patrols, incident reporting, loss prevention and emergency response
• Basic understanding of fire safety, evacuation procedures, first aid and workplace health and safety
• Strong observation, situational awareness and problem-solving skills
• Good verbal and written communication, including clear incident reports
• Courteous interaction with guests, associates, visitors and contractors
